LOL!
Stef's Short Review of Today:
Lost an earring. Drove self nuts. I don't like losing things. It makes me mad. :oP I'll have to look closer between Henderson's room and the Shanty tomorrow morning, and that makes me sad. I WANT MY EARRING! Grr.
Got a terrible grade on the Kramer vs. Kramer in-class write. Bound and determined not to screw up in English for the rest of the year. Must kick 2.2's butt! Mwahaha. I have lots of time on Friday to work on it, come to think of it...*smiles* But anyway, I bet Basmati will fart in my general direction today.
Went to the Top 25 at KR/Rotary Scholars Banquet thingy. Wore prom shoes. Pretty prom shoes...well, they're my Homecoming shoes, but they're tall, strappy, and awesome, so I'm wearing them again. Didn't trip but didn't win a scholarship, either. Oh well. Nobody else out of the Top 25 from anywhere in the district is going to Baylor. Whoo-hoo! I'll be surrounded by a completely new set of people. That makes me happy. More people to conque-er, I mean, befriend. Yes. Befriend. Not taking over the world. Yes. *ahem* Uh-huh. :o) (Still a very happy thought about meeting tons of new people in college! Yay!)
And now I'm filling out my honors housing form. A community of semi-geeks. Yay! :o)
My stomach hurts. :o(

Blogger's changed a lot. More features, yay. More complicated, nay. >:oP The old version seemed easier to use.
Oh well. My blog is still going to be here. I guess I have a lot of re-figuring out where the heck everything is, eh? Ta-da!
I'm currently stuck on my intro paragraph for an evil essay due...next freakin' week?! Grr. Not happy. Perhaps after eating I'll have more ideas...off to conquer paper!
Note to self and entire universe: Theo is a disobedient manslave. Shame on him.

Supposedly May 7th was No Pants Day. Dang it, Pants [Stephanie H.] was the only one who celebrated by wearing a dress...how ironic...Pants clelbrated No Pants Day...LOL. Anyway, we should've celebrated by making Theo come to school in a kilt, mwahahaha...just kidding.

This was originally from my website. I don't want it there anymore because it's quite ranty and less publicy but I still want it somewhere, so I'm cutting and pasting it here. From Sunday, April 24, 2004:
'Tis true, I love my car, and not just for the fact that it's a bright red Grand Am that's like an automatic mini-Corvette (Corvettes...*drool*) with people-hauling space. [Sidenote: I have every right not to take people home after school if I so please or if they're not officially part of the carpool. I (er, uh, my parents) put $2.01 a gallon worth of gas in the car today. Want a ride? Pay me or bring me some Taco Bell.] It's best when people aren't in the car and Fluffy Bunny (or another Puffalump/handkerchief) is in the car. I can contemplate things while listening to whatever the heck I want to on the radio. (Usually country stuff--really country stuff like George Strait--that irritates almost any potential passengers I know other than my parents and maybe Pants.)
Anyway, I had to get out of the house. Had to. It was making me nuts, sort of like the Raths' house on Greentree Avenue in The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit. (I didn't like that book. Whiners!) Anyway, I needed alone time elsewhere to sort out all the college dookie (understatement of the year) and everything else that stinks about my life (also an understatement--there's a lot and why me?!). Theo wasn't home. Jacque wasn't home. And I didn't see Bill's car at his house. Anyway, I got a mocha coconut Frappuchino at Starbucks (still isn't in season--no coconut flakes in for the summer, but they still have the syrup) with the extra-long driving straw and drove around aimlessly for a while.
This isn't the first time I've used happy alone time in the car with the radio (now fixed--I needed a new battery).
After Jessica passed on, I spent quite some time trying to think through it all and realize what exactly happened (it seems kind of surreal to find that a classmate's not going to be there anymore) by driving aimlessly and turning on random streets in Kent before the Rally men's soccer game last year. And when Crystal came to visit one day after her accident, I thought about it on the way home from school and Relient K's "For the Moments I Feel Faint" will forever be attached to my memory of that day because of my ride home in the car.
Today wasn't so much about people who aren't at Kentridge so often...I had to consider college. As of now, I am hoping and praying for Midwestern State to come through with some scholarship money. They have an honors program and an extra-awesome Honors House. They have all the geeky college traditions I would miss out on if I went to the University of Texas at Tyler. My mom went there, it's pretty, the semi-private dorm rooms rule (especially for bashful little me), and I don't know, I kind of like Wichita Falls. Perhaps there's a reason I was so offended by Issaquah High's
mascot-switching from the Indians--MSU students are the Indians and I think it's a sign of respect. No worse than having Texans or Patriots as a mascot because they're groups of people, too. And Mom went there. I was born in Wichita Falls. I have fond memories of Wichita Falls and that's where I farted in a lawyer's office when I was a baby. Farted! Mom said people wondered
how that much noise came out of that small of a kid! (Obviously, she had no clue what was in store later! Eh...out of my mouth...words...not flatulence.) But if I could get over $1,000 in scholarships from them, I could get in-state tuition, and the lady over scholarships seemed to be very impressed with my test scores and enthusiastic about getting me something. Yay something! Hopefully a lot of something. And the dorm rooms...they're a little dark, but semi-private (each person gets an offset space to themselves) to appease my dislike of getting naked around others, and I wouldn't even mind the interior blob--no window glare on computer or TV screens and I tend to shut the blinds when it's ugly and cloudy. I would do well in Wichita Falls. There's a mall. There's Mexican food, a Sonic where Amanda works, a Taco Bell/TCBY combo somewhere in town (according to Google/MapQuest--I've yet to see this...), my old house, and by living at MSU, I could sort of say that I finally lived in Country Club. Dude! And I could post extra-awesome pictures of the Christmas lights! Christmas lights...at a public school...how long has it been since that's occurred anywhere out here? And I have an idea where things are! Yay for having a clue! (Well, an old clue. Sort of.) Besides, I like Wichita Falls. South of the Border, baby! But I think I would do awesomely at Midwestern State. Therefore, for the love of all things holy, sacred, and in the coolest state ever, hope and pray that MSU gives me an awesome offer. Besides, Kathryn suggested that I pick a school that matches my usual color scheme. Red and gold goes very well with my gorgeous car, the wire garland stuff on the top of my duct tape spear, and most of the formal dresses I've ever gotten.
In the end, I got most of the feelings of anger, helplessness, desperation, and frustration out (most, not all, mind you) while listening to George Strait's Lead On CD and some of the radio. When I was looking at places like SMU and TCU that were more expensive but in an area with free public transportation for university
students (at least for SMU), I started to panic over the threat of not having a car. Granted, if any of the more expensive institutions (heck, I'd even go carless at Baylor) happened to change their minds and offered me a free ride, I'd gladly give up on MSU (unless MSU's offering me something nice as well) and go there, but nooooo, nobody's doing that now. But anyway, my car is my contemplation space. It's not just a pretty thing that chugs gas at two bucks a gallon. It keeps me sane.
Soooooo...arrgh. Read below for happy resolutions to the college problem. All is well and according to the express mail tracking system, everything reached Waco on May 1. Whoo-hoo! Now all I have to do is wait for what I need to fill out next and send in the health form for the dorms. :o) (Well, not :o) for the health form. I think it involves a shot? Needles are evil. The last one I had hurt like heck for quite some time afterwards...grr.)
And I'm stuck going carless at Baylor. Grr. Leg muscles. Blecch. >:oP
