Grievance of Stef #986,427,052,127:
"Fake" indie kids...every college has them, and now I'm realizing that they're beginning to get on my nerves. :oP They're the folks who are like, "I'm so indie. I listen to Death Cab and Bright Eyes all the time..." Congratulations! So does half the campus! Grr. It's like me trying to say I'm a redneck because I have a ton of country stuff in my iTunes. No. I have Death Cab and Bright Eyes on there, too, but I'm not a so-called "indie kid" just because of that. I just like some of their music. However, I don't really try to be anything other than Stef.

On the other hand, I don't think I'm going to be able to get up tomorrow morning, and that blows. Who's for chugging the entire package of double shots before my ten-o'clock? Meh. I should stop typing this and go back to homework.

Why are you here? I updated the Chum Bucket, and that's vastly more important than this whining, so go over there and check out the pretty welcome pic from Morrison Hall. I need a new layout, arrgh. Oh well.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? MAY...that choir trip! Plus June 11--birthday and a graduation, huzzah!

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year? Getting into BAYLOR!

9. What was your biggest failure? Stress, stress, stress! Yeah, the inventor of Spanish 1412 needs to be kicked in the happy spot.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? At the beginning of college, I was sick as a dog, arrgh! Oh well, I have great friends now. :o)

11. What was the best thing you bought? My Dooney and Bourke purse. (Yeah, it's shallow, but it's gotten a lot of use, it's cute, and it still isn't completely fallen apart yet. Well worth the "way too much," especially since it's the perfect purse layout for me, yay!)

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration? Jacque and Ms. West.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed? THEO! Grr, Stinky Manslave has been owned by his woman!

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? Sorority recruitment! (Well, the week was pretty bad because I guess the recommendations never came through and I didn't know enough people, but I finally ended up in one and our pledge class is the awesomest!)

16. What song will always remind you of 2004? the KR Chamber Choir's Canada program, especially "Hear My Prayer" (funny how I sang that in choir before I called about scholarships at Baylor?), "At The Round Earth's Imagined Corners," and the Mattias piece.

36. What political issue stirred you the most? The presidential election, with the Washington governor's election a close second. Gregoire is not a KD Lady...that oughta be a de-pinnable/dishonorable discharge offense from the alumnae chapters, folks. How is it that after three recounts, it's only after the last one where bloody corrupt King County "determined voter intent" (a.k.a. guessed about) ballots where morons couldn't figure out how to fill in a freakin' bubble? If that's not stealing an election, I don't know what is.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004: You never know whether or not you're really in certain doom.

Pillage.

Grr, arrgh.

I've had an on-again, off-again headache since about last Wednesday. I bombed a poli sci quiz today because of it. I couldn't sleep until 5 last night, so I'm in a complete haze today. Someone at the KD song practice asked me if I was drunk because I was laughing so much, but it was just my usual fuzzy combination of no sleep, caffeine, and an unplanned nap on the fourth floor while reading the Qu'ran.

Honestly, I could never be a Muslim...they're pretty harsh about other religions. Oh well, so are some Christians, but I dunno, that whole "the Jews and the Christians aren't listening to Allah as well as they should be" thing...wasn't a fun read.

Really, I need to read about fuzzy bunnies or giant ogres who attack Seattle. Either that or I'm going to super-duper enjoy Pike's Pranks tomorrow (today at 3)--it's a big field day of sorority vs. sorority competition, plus the bonus of Justin the Front Desk Guy being a pledge, possibly in the dunk tank thanks to Meghan!

Arrrrrrrrrgh, Envronmental Studies 1305 busy work is not cool. I'm taking a break right now because I know good and well that I'm going to be up 'til the cows not only come home, but well after they do their bovine victory dance on the roof of Memorial.

I think I've figured out why this hall gets on my nerves. Having no classes with these people puts me entirely out of the loop. The main group of the hall is a clique (a "you're in honors what now?!" clique at that--how do they survive on such little studying?!), I don't like cliques, and thus, I've found the basis of my dislike/discomfort here.

Thank goodness for the KD meeting--tonight was a hall dinner, and I had a meeting. *phew* It was super-awkward the other day when I ate with a big chunk of the hall, so why would I want to do that again? I don't really feel like being stared at for saying something different, feeling completely out of touch with everyone else, and being surrounded by "I want babies and I like Jane Austen!" talk again. If I wanted that, I wouldn't be living in the honors dorm. Maybe I should eat with the BIC...as in, the entire BIC...and propose a field trip to Ninfa's to take care of this. Mexico is one of the coolest world cultures out there! (Plus...cheese enchiladas and virgin margaritas are so much better than Memorial food...)

I love our songs for the pledge dance! We rock!

And lastly, the ideal Yak Appreciation Day (February 14, oh forgetful ones...) gift for me would be a Common Grounds gift certificate. I'm poor and I like yaks.
